Introduction
Teksoft FingerTouch is a new kind of keyboard for your mobile device that offers the best typing experience possible. To achieve this performance, FingerTouch comes with finger-friendly buttons, and 5 different keyboards to fit everyone's needs. After downloading the CAB you will have your new keyboard up and running in just a few seconds.
FingerTouch comes with the "UltraKeyboard" technology built-in, meaning that you will be able to use macros to increase typing speed, and also to trigger specific actions directly from your keyboard. Phone numbers, email addresses, web links, often used greetings and many more - FingerTouch is your number 1 choice for handling your input data!
Compatibility
The FingerTouch keyboard was designed for the Windows Mobile Pocket PC platform. It works with WM2003, WM5.0 and WM6.0, on devices with SQUARE, QVGA or VGA screen sizes. Immediatelly after installation, FingerTouch integrates into your mobile device automatically.
Installing FingerTouch
We have provided three ways of getting the software on your Windows Mobile Device:
Installer 1) PC Installer, filename fingertouch_1.0_desktop.exe. This is a Desktop installer. You need to run it on
your Desktop computer AFTER you have connected the Pocket PC to the Desktop PC via ActiveSync. The process is automated
so after you've launched this setup exe file, you will get the FingerTouch installed on the PocketPC in a few seconds.
Installer 2) Mobile Installer, filename fingertouch_1.0_mobile.exe. This exe file must be copied on your Pocket
PC using Active Sync's "Explore" option. Then start File Explorer and tap the mobile installer once to launch it. Again
this process is automated.
Installer 3) CAB Files, filename fingertouch_1.0_cab.zip. This Zip file contains 2 CAB files: teksoft-cer.cab, and
FingerTouch.signed.arm.cab. You need to copy all these 2 files on your Mobile Device, and from File Explorer to launch them
in this order: teksoft-cer.cab and the last FingerTouch.signed.arm.cab

Classic Keyboard
This is a classic keyboard much better then the standard
windows keyboard. It comes with bigger buttons, smoother keypress animation and several addon functions. By pressing the
"F ON/OFF" button, the user has access to additional characters.

Smart Keyboard
Based on english language letter order statistics, this
keyboard offers on the big buttons the best probable choices the user would need to press when writing a text. This
keyboard might seem a little difficult to use on first trials, but for those that are willing to invest the time in learning
to handle it, the results would be impressive in terms of typing speed. For example the word "theater" can be spelled by pressing
almost the same button - try it yourself!
This is the perfect compromise between limited keyboard space and big finger friendly buttons, all made possible by this smart
implementation.
To activate CAPS, SHIFT or numeric keys, press the "F ON/OFF" button.

Phone Keyboard
For those used to the phone keypads we have a solution.
This keyboard is a standard phone-like keyboard, where the characters can be written by pressing the appropriate button several times.
By doing so, we barely need to re-position the typing finger, and for many of us this is quite comfortable.
We have added additional characters to the left, so instead of pressing "1" several times, we can use the shortcuts on the
left for common characters like !,?,- and others.

Numeric/Calculator Keyboard
This is a special type of keyboard layout. While pressing keys it does not write them on the screen, instead it
writes numbers on its display and performs standard mathematic operations. The user can press the Display to transfer the
number into the text.
Also the user can toggle the "WRT" mode (a W will appear on the Display) to have all the calculations pasted into the text
document. With "WRT" mode on, each calculation will appear in the text on a new line (after the result is computed).

Big Keyboard
It combines the standard QWERTY keyboard with an innovative design
that allows us to use big-finger-friendly buttons in a very limited screen space. Each button comes with two symbols, and the
user can press it once or twice to obtain any of the two characters (somehow similar to the Phone Keyboard, but faster). Also the user can
hold the Pocket PC with both hands, and use both Thumb fingers to press the keys (very effective when writing big texts like
emails).
The good thing is that this keyboard doesn't cover all the screen surface and it still provides big buttons.

+ All of the 5 keyboards come with the "UltraKeyboard" technology embedded, so they will greatly improve your typing speed.
You can define up to 7 actions for different key combinations (triggers). For example you can configure that each time you
type "!gre", the predefined text "Greetings, John Smith" to be automatically inserted in your text. Or when you type "!http1"
to get "www.teksoftco.com" automatically inserted in the internet explorer address bar.
The UltraKeyboard can be configured
from the Settings Panel, the tab named "FastKB". The implemented actions are:
-Replace with phrase: configure a trigger text-combination that when typed would be instantly replaced with a phrase. Imagine
how useful can this be for common expression, often used in emails like greetings, or formal questions.
-Execute a file: start any program by typing the proper key combination.
-Turn device off: put the device in hibernation to save power when you no longer need to use it.
-Reset device: had enough of looking for that tiny reset button? Use this action to reset your device easily
-Call number: define a key combination that would automatically call the configured number when typed. This option is available
for pocket pc's with phone.
-Screen Capture: take a snapshot of your screen by typing the trigger combination. By default this is !cap
-Rotate Screen: use it to rotate the screen orientation.
For any of these actions, the trigger can be typed anywhere, it doesn't need to appear on the screen (you can be in File Explorer
and type a combination - the configured action will be instantly executed even if the trigger text doesn't appear).
+ Configurable Keyboard layout. From the Settings Panel, the user can change the keyboard font, or even select a new skin.
The FingerTouch Keyboard comes with two skins, but more can be downloaded from the Teksoft website
+ Built-in Screen Capture utility
FingerTouch offer the possibility of creating screen captures by using the corresponding "FastKB" trigger combination.

The Settings Panel is used to define user preferences like: keyboard skin, layout, text font, font size, key repeat delays,
and more. Here you can define various triggers to take advantage of the embedded "Ultra Keyboard" technology. Also this is the
place to enter the license key to register your FingerTouch copy.

To access the Settings panel, you can go to Start->Settings->Input, select "Teksoft FingerTouch" and press the Options button.
Alternatively you can click on the bottom Keyboard symbol, then press the little arrow to open the popup menu with keyboards,
and from there press Options. Please use the left picture as a reference.

The settings panel comes with several tabs that are designed to group the various settings, as follows:
+ GFX Tab: is used to customize the Font, the Skin and the Default Keyboard (which of the 5 keyboards to be displayed first)
+ Config Tab: allows the user to customize the keypress speed settings, and to set the FingerTouch as the default System keyboard (recommended)

UltraKeyboard settings
Configures the advanced UltraKeyboard settings,
that improve the typing speed. There are several default triggers (!cap,!gre,...), that can be modified, by holding the
stylus over any of them and choosing "Add/Delete". A simple tap on a pre-defined trigger will allow the user to modify it.
The small button over the Parameter box can be used to browse for files (for the Execute File trigger). After an item has
been modified, the "Save" button needs to be pressed.

+ Register Tab: must be used before purchasing a FingerTouch license to obtain the Device ID code. This TAB is only shown in
the Unregistered version of FingerTouch Keyboard.
Register
FingerTouch is 9.95EURO shareware. The unregistered version will work as trial for 16 days, after this period the software
needs to be registered.
Once you have FingerTouch installed and working properly, go in the FingerTouch Settings panel, then press the Register Tab:

Write down the Device ID code. On your device it will contain a different code then in the picture above, as the code is device
dependant. After you have this code, go to the Teksoft Webpage www.teksoftco.com
section Products -> FingerTouch and choose the "BUY IT!" button. There you will need to enter the Device ID code and your email address.
After the payment is complete, you will receive your serial code automatically. Check your mailbox spam filters to allow emails from
the teksoftco.com domain.
