Configuration and Troubleshooting
What's new in 1.5? Older versions:
BlueInput is the only Bluetooth HID Driver available for the Windows Mobile platform. Using our driver, you can easily connect bluetooth keyboards or mouses
to your Pocket PC, and enjoy the comfort of a wireless input device.
You will see that nothing beats the speed and productivity BlueInput provides: you can type emails faster, browse the internet easier, all in one, a
unique new experience, that transforms your Mobile Device into the perfect Mobile Office solution.
A) Bluetooth Input Devices Compatibility
The BlueInput Driver was designed to function with any standard HID Device.
Since most of the Bluetooth Mouses or Keyboards support the HID Protocol by design, you will be happy to see your Bluetooth device works with BlueInput
out of the box.
BlueInput was designed to automatically detect the way your input hardware works: the driver performs mouse and keyboard auto detection
based on the Standard Report Descriptor protocol, to ensure flawless functionality.
If your mouse or keyboard is a standard Bluetooth HID compatible device, that exports the "Input Device" service,
it will work with BlueInput.
B) Windows Mobile Compatibility
You can install BlueInput on a Windows Mobile Device (Pocket PC or Smartphone), running Windows Mobile 5.0 and above. The Bluetooth Stack installed must
be the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack.
To install the software on your mobile device, you need to download the CAB files from BlueInput download page.
If the CAB file is compressed with ZIP and the download comes as a ZIP file, you will need to extract the ZIP content to your Desktop,
using the trial version of Winzip. Having the software CAB file, follow the next steps:
1.Open ActiveSync on your desktop
3.Copy the file to your device. You can do this by dragging and dropping the file from the folder on your desktop to the My Documents folder for your device.
On the device, open File Explorer:
4.Tap Start > Programs > File Explorer.
5.Open the folder that you copied the .CAB file into.
6.Tap the .CAB file or select the CAB file using the arrows and press the action button.
7.The application will install on your device.
Configuration and Troubleshooting
After BlueInput is successfully installed on your Pocket PC you need to pair the Bluetooth Mouse or Keyboard to the Pocket PC.
To learn how to connect the Bluetooth Mouse or Keyboard to your Pocket PC you should consult your Bluetooth Mouse or Keyboard manual or use
the following guide:
A) How to connect a Bluetooth Input Device to your Pocket PC
Step1: On your Bluetooth Mouse or Keyboard, press the connect button.
Step2: On your Pocket PC, Open Bluetooth Devices, and then click Add new device:
Step3: After the device name appears, select it, and then tap on Next.
Step4: When the wizard asks you to specify a passkey, leave the password field blank and press Next.
If this fails, enter 0000 or 1234 as a passcode and press Next. You can find the exact passcode in your Bluetooth Mouse or Keyboard manual.
Step5: At this step select the Input device service and press Finish.
Step6: Go to BlueInput settings Pannel, and press Connect.
Here are a few solutions for error messages displayed by the Blueinput driver:
"The BlueInput driver is not responding. You need to reinstall this software."
Solution: This error is caused by a problem with the communication between the Blueinput software components. You need to check if your Windows Mobile Device is compatible with
BlueInput, and to try to reinstall Blueinput.
"Bluetooth is turned off. To use BlueInput, please enable your Bluetooth module!"
Make sure you are using BlueInput on a Pocket PC with WM5.0 or above and the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack.
Then enable Bluetooth before using BlueInput.
"No active Input Device found. You need to pair a device, using the Bluetooth control panel."
Make sure your Mouse or Keyboard is correctly paired to your Pocket PC. If this error appears while your mouse or
keyboard are paired, redo the pairing.
To open the settings panel, go to Start->Settings->System TAB, and tap the icon named "Bluetooth Input Driver"
The Settings panel displays several pages, for better access to the software options:
Allows you to configure the functionality behind the Bluetooth Mouse. Events like left click, right click and
even scroll up/down are totally configurable. The cursor icon and the cursor speed can be configured here.
This page offers two options: enable / disable the keyboard functionality and enable / disable keyboard sounds.
Here you can view the general driver status including Bluetooth, Mouse and Keyboard status. You can configure the driver to
start when Windows starts (autostart) and you can enable / disable the Tray icon
. The tray icon allows quick access to the
It shows this help page.
The About page displays the software version and some other useful info.
Here you can register your BlueInput copy. This page is shown only in the unregistered version of BlueInput.
It contains two buttons: Hide and Connect. Hide closes the Settings Panel, that can be reopened from the system
tray or from Start->Settings->System->Bluetooth Input Driver. Connect is used to setup the link between the Pocket PC and the Bluetooth Input Device
The BlueInput driver comes with some powerful features:
Universal HID support: BlueInput works with any standard Bluetooth Mouse or Keyboard
Power saving features: BlueInput uses as little battery power as possible
Highly configurable: Customize your cursor, or the Mouse actions. We have provided a list of over
17 custom actions for your mouse. With a click you can open a program, open an applet, switch to another task,
close the current task, or even scroll up or down your documents while reading!
Small footprint: BlueInput uses tiny amounts of memory and cpu power, less then 0.5MB Storage!
GAPI compatible: now you can play Pocket PC games using our driver and your Bluetooth mouse
Fast Text Input: use your Bluetooth Keyboard to write emails, messages or various notes. It's fast - BlueInput makes it possible!
User friendly: this driver is a sophisticated piece of software, but it has a friendly user interface
Easy configuration: a few taps is all the user needs to do, to have BlueInput working
Enhances user experience: it turns your simple Pocket PC into a Powerful Mobile Office unit
Unlimited trial: we have provided an unlimited trial version so you can see how useful BlueInput is.
The unregistered version will allow you to use all of its features, but after 50 clicks it will disable the mouse and after 200 keys pressed will
disable the keyboard. To re-enable the input devices, you need to go to the Mouse or Keyboard settings page, and re-enable them manually.
This restriction is disabled once the program is registered.
To Register BlueInput, go in the BlueInput Settings panel to the page named "Register":
Carefully copy the serial number information from the Teksoft License Email that you've received after purchasing the software, and enter it into the
appropriate fields in the registration window. Try to avoid typographical errors that might result in your registration code not being
accepted by the program. After the serial number is entered, you can click OK. The program will display a registration confirmation.
