Bluetooth mouse driver/app

Postby vmiguel » Tue Mar 13, 2007 6:10 pm

Hi,

I would like to have a software that could implement any (or at least, the more normal ones) bluetooth mouse on my PPC.

I know this is possible, as there's a company selling a (expensive) bundle with a bt mouse and the drivers for PC and PPC. Unfortunately, they don't sell the software whitout the mouse, and besides, their software only works with their mouse.

Many people allready have a bt mouse, so there's no need to buy a new one. BUT, I, and many others, would gladly buy a software to work with their's existing bluetooth mouses, on our PPC.

No comments, weither way?

I tought this would be something that many PPC users would like...

In www.pocketpt.net and www.xda-developers.com forums, there was some talk about this, and many were interested.

vmiguel, the idea is quite interesting and I believe we will see an implementation soon.

of course, you will receive a free license for it. also any other ideas related to this should be posted here.

Those are great news, thanks!

And I surely don't mind getting a free license... :D

I offer my services as a beta tester, if you need one. I use a i-mate Jasjar (WM6 non official rom, but I can change to a official one), and a Clicker F-21 bt mouse.

Also, my wife use a Qtek S100, so, if WM2003 woul be supported, I can test it also in that configuration.

And in a portuguese ppc forum, I've posted a pool, to verify if it would be of interest. Not many voters, but it seams that such a software could have a good comercial perspective. More than 80% of the voters stated that they would be interested in such a application.

Best regards from Portugal.

Some ideas, to use the mouse in PPC as we do in a desktop PC, in relevance order (from my standpoint):

1. Make it simple and light on the resources needed.

2. Implement right button for the "click-and-hold", context menu action (or make it configurable for other options, as opening a pre-set application).

3. Implement wheel action when scrolling lists.

4. Make it configuration free, as much as possible.

5. When using the mouse, if the PPC times out, and go into sleep mode, when turned on again, make it reconnects with the mouse without user intervention...

6. ... or make it connect by a simple method, maybe a simple button on a Today plugin, or in the Task bar.

Those are quite obvious, and probably, the Teksoft team already figured that out...

So, no news on this one?

Many people on the PPC portuguese forum where I posted a poll about such a program, are asking me if this is going to be available.

I do understand that some secrecy is important on such a new application...

Hello all,

We have a few devs already working on a solution. Hope we will have good news for you soon.
Nebula: yes it should support any bluetooth mouse (general HID support).

Hello, Is it possible if I can sign up to be a beta tester for BlueMouse? Who would I have to contact to be a beta tester? Thanks.

As a beta tester, I think I'm allowed to say this much:

IT WORKS!!! :D

A few more tweakings, and it will be a dream come true, for me!

Thanks to Raul Tinca, Radu Motisan, and everybody in Teksoft!

I'd like to try it

Cingular 8525 (HTC Tytn) with the latest AT&T WM5 ROM and the MS Bluetooth Mouse (Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth)

I'd also love to try this and be a tester! I've got a Dell Axim x51v, and a Dell bluetooth mouse (which I bought in hopes that they'd work together), and I'm running WM5 with the Aximsite.com Widcomm bluetooth drivers, but I'd be willing to revert to the MS stack for this to work.

:D
