AudioRoute

Small projects created to fit certain needs. Any of these might turn into a bigger application. It depends on everyone's feedback.

Googling around I found that this VOIP low volume problem is quite common but it seems no one found a solution.

Can you offer some advice?

I noticed that DynRIL library has a SetSpkVolume function. Could it be used to increase volume during VOIP calls?

I duno if you ever figured it out? But i had the same issue on my HTC TD2 and resolved it with this REGEDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466479

Just try out the "Mid" file if you can find it in the above thread it worked for me.

Yes that might work. Should there be a major need for this (reported by several users) we can try to implement the changes.

Thanks for sharing. Oruam57, can you report back if this works on your device as well?

Not working on my Touch Pro 2

Postby swizard210 » Mon Mar 01, 2010 6:12 am

Hey! I have recently just been exposed to the world of Skype Calling. I have a Stock Rom Windows Mobile 6.1 Sprint Touch Pro 2. Yesterday afternoon, I installed Skype Mobile on my phone and after doing some research online, came across this program. I too installed it on to my device and tried a call which worked great. I initiated the call on speakerphone, after it connected it went to earpiece and after the call ended I went back to the speakerphone setting.

NOW, for some reason, I was having and external issue with my HTC Volume Control not working (it has been an on/off problem for some time now). And so I had some time last night so decided to hard reset my entire phone and one by one reinstall everything that was already on that.

HOWEVER, in doing this, I have installed Skype again too along with AudioRoute. BUT now, when it switch it to earpiece, it no longer works... I don't have the problem that some people are stating where when they switch it, it just stays on speakerphone. For me, when I switch it to earpiece, the speakerphone turns off, but then nothing turns on. It's just completely silent, and I can still switch it back to speakerphone and have it work there.

I have hard reset my phone probably 4 times over the course of this past day thinking maybe I did something wrong or Installed something else that have affected it. But I've even try making Skype and Audioroute the FIRST two things I install after a hard reset (even before my contacts) and I am still facing the same problem. I don't quite understand what changed from yesterday afternoon (when it worked) to yesterday evening when I hard reset my phone.

Are there some sort of files that I may be missing or some registry edits that I need to do? I would REALLY appreciate some help!

Thank you in advance!

Have tyou tried using medial player and then switching the audio to EAR PIECE to see if that is working OK?

I cant see what might have changed when you HARD RESET your device unless you had some other third party application also installed but now since you reset back to original manufactures settings this application is no longer installed.

Just a couple of other comments....why dont you change your ROM to a WM6.5 or even the latest WM6.5.5? they offer some improvements over the WM6.1. Check out here (Make sure this is your device) hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=440 for the "How to change ROMS" if you are interested.

Regarding the AudioRoute installation I cant beleive that it is anything major stopping it from working, try re routing the audio on a couple of different applications. then also make sure that you are switching the Audio in SKYPE only AFTER you have connected the call.

Finally I collected a few bits of information from around the WEB and adapted a MORTSCRIPT to allow automatic routing of the Audio (Using AudioRoute 1.2.020). This alleviates the need for you to switch the audio once the call connects. However you do need to either minimise SKYPE and then open it again to full screen in order to switch the audio. Or simply use your Volume UP button which on HTC will effectively minimise SKYPE and then bring it back to the main screen and thus switch the audio in the process!

If you are interested to get it to work then check out my post on SKYPE Forum at hxxp://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=547631

The simpler method would only require the installation of MORTSCRIPT, AUDIOROUTE and a short cut on your TODAY screen to the Mortscript file which would then launch SKYPE. Therefore no need to install G-Profile (but this does give the most automated approach but will cost you for the software).

By minimising and then re opening SKYPE this switches the audio to the Ear Piece and back again to the rear speaker when SKYPE is minimised again. As the MortScript is monitoring the open window until SKYPE is finally CLOSED.

Thank you for your prompt reply!

Again, I too have idea why it doesn't work! lol I just hard reset my phone and first thing I did was install AudioRoute, and try playing a stock music song on the phone in Windows Media Player. The same problem still occurs. It plays on the Speaker and when I switch it to earpiece, nothing comes out of the earpiece or speakerphone until I switch it back to the speaker phone.

As for why I haven't upgraded to any other ROM with Windows 6.5 is the following. I went to the website hXXp://rhodiumw.htc-unlocks.com/hard-spl.php. I tried following the directions for HardSPL. But nothing happens for me. My problem was not address in the Notes or Troubleshooting sections. Pretty much I hard reset my phone. I connected it and synced it to my Windows Vista computer. I downloaded the latest HardSPL (RhodiumW-HardSPL_V1_10R3.exe). Unzipped it. But when I double click on the EXE. NOTHING HAPPENS. That's it. Nothing pops up at all. I am connected to the internet also.

Go to the XDA site for HARDSPL their option worked very easy for me to install on my HTC Touch Diamond2.

As you know that you must install HardSPL before attempting ROM upgrade.

XDA links to that same site I already mentioned. hXXp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578660

I tried those instructions but they don't work. Literally nothing happens when i double click on RhodiumW-HardSPL_V1_10R3.exe.

Can you perhaps try again on a different computer?

AudioRoute only works if you change the audio to EAR PIECE AFTER the call is connected. Try using the ECHO test call in SKYPE and wait until she answeres before diverting the audio, this should then work.

I have done a lot of searching and found this program that works totally AUTOMATICALLY for by HTC TD2 for both Native VOIP and SKYPE calls. you need to have AudioRoute installed on your phone, then remove the AudioRoute start up link file from /Windows/Start Up folder. Then install version 1.1 of this program from the first post and then for the SKYPE AutoAudioRoute to work copy and overwrite the AutoAudioRoute file in to your /Program Files/AutoAudioRoute folder. (Found at post #37) of the same thread.

If it is working on your phone then you no longer have to run AudioRoute or touch the routing buttons. when a SKYPE or Native VOIP call is made the audio comes from the rear speaker until the call in ANSWERED then is automatically switches to the Ear Piece. At the end of the call it switches back to Rear speaker so your device audio sounds are returned to the rear speaker. It works brilliantly on my TD2.

However the program can only auto switch the audio in SKYPE IF you phone creates the same folder as it does in my TD2 when SKYPE connects to a voice call (Read more about this in the thread). Simplest way to know is just install and try it. But First check if AudioRoute is working on your phone as advised above.

PLEASE DO REPORT BACK ON THAT THREAD IF IT IS WORKING FOR YOUR PHONE OR NOT. IF ENOUGH OTHER BRANDS WORKS THE SAME WAY THEN THE CREATOR WILL PERMINENTLY ADD IT TO HIS INSTALLER FILE.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=519008

Teksoftco..........maybe you could discuss with the creator (Oruam57) of the application and team up to build a universal version? Also please can you do anyting to increase the volume in your audio Codec stack used for AudioRoute on the Native VOIP? For SKYPE there is no problem but for Native VOIP the volume is too low and I'm assuming that it is using your audio Codec as there is no change if using the device volume buttons (up or down).

Unfortunately these are hard times for developers like for other businesses too.
Our resources are limited and doing Freeware is probably the last thing on a very long todo list, however we will take into account these suggestions when upgrading audioroute.

Re: AudioRoute

Postby juppk » Tue Jun 01, 2010 2:17 pm

Hi,
Hoping this thread is still alive, I place my question here.
I still am trying to use FM_Radio sound path to Bluetooth. That seems a little bit tricky.
Is it possible to have a routine like DynRIL API, SetAudioPath
"This API changes the audio path for both the input device (microphone) and the output device (speaker)"

The problem is that always the Mic input is also switched to Bluetooth. I search for a function where the voice input is still used from the build in microphone.

Finally I look for a tool to route the build in microphone sound to back speaker or direct to Bluetooth Headset.

I have tried Blue Music. It works well for mp3 sound but for some reason it doesn’t work for FM_Radio. FM_Radio is a build in device but separately handled by hardware (even it's on chip with Bluetooth Chip). Therefore you can have mp3 sound at the Back Speaker and FM_Radio Sound at wired Headset the same time. And the best is, in addition you can have FM_Radio sound (reduced loudness) at the Mic input line.

So all I need is a tool to send this Mic input signal to Bluetooth Headset (mono).

May be someone has an idea?

Regards
