Blueinput on HTC Touch PRO

Postby Seth » Wed Mar 04, 2009 3:56 pm

Hi,
I tried Blueinput on my HTC Touch PRO. I can pair mouse (Microsoft bluetooth notebook mouse 5000), but in settings of Bluinput was Bluetooth OFF, mouse OFF, keyboard OFF. So I guess its problem with communication with bluetooth stack, How can I get version and type of my stack? Is possible eventually to reinstall stack to another.

Thanks Seth

Most of the HTC devices run the MS Bluetooth stack, including yours.

So BlueInput should work.

If it doesn't something must be going wrong. You should contact support at:

I also own an htc Touch pro and I found if you turn off "TouchFlo 3D appearance" blueinput works much, much more inefficient with less problems.

I have been using this program and have found small issues that make me a bit frustrated. But I still enjoy using the software and hardware together with my phone; just hoping for some fixes if possible.

1. If I play solitaire I get ghosting, and I don’t mean a few mouse icon remnants I mean I can fill the screen with them. Even maneuvering around WM6.1 I get ghosting when using the mouse wheel, it goes away though but still I would like to see a bug fix if possible.

2. Sometimes if I turn off blueinput and or Bluetooth to move to a new location then turn the software back on to connect to the hardware it just doesn’t work. And the only way to get it to work is to do a hard restart. Bluetooth sees my hardware but blueinput cannot connect, I do get it all working but not without restarting my whole system which can be annoying sometimes.

3. I have notice sometimes when I use some game applications then turn them off while using a mouse and I have a back ground application running I won’t be able to turn off the background application and a hard restart is needed to get my phone back to normal.

4. I have Age of empires, Warcraft 2 and some other RTS game for my phone which is a slider phone, so when I play these games the RTS game will switch to landscape view, but my mouse stays as portrait view in the game and its kind of eye funny for me. Can this be explained and is their a way to fix this, I have it working in some games but Age of empires and Warcraft 2 wont make the switch to landscape for the mouse pointer icon. Any ideas besides messing with the game settings?? Sometimes when I use blueinput with these applications the application crashes as well. And I need to perform a hard restart, but when I use my stylus I have no problems with any of these games.

5. I have a power button on the top of my htc touch pro that lets me turn off them screen when I am done with it, but when I connect the mouse and its in use if u try to turn off my device it does not turn off. But if I turn off blueinput my power button works again. Any ideas?

These have been some small issues that I was wondering could be fixed or not, would just like to know other then these Blueinput is a fun and great product that I recommend.

htc touch pro bluetooth off

Postby mwl » Wed May 27, 2009 7:46 pm

Bluetooth devices likely time out with lock of screen. On unlock of screen, BlueInput thinks that Bluetooth is switched off. I turn Bluetooth off and then on again & that sorts that one out. Other than rediscovering my mouse + kbd each time I unlock the screen after no use I have not been able to find a way to make the BT devices auto discoverable when they're on. The "menubar "connect" button should handle this but does not. A bug?
Is there a way to stop the phone from switching off while typing (ie longer than the power auto shutoff allows?)
it can only get better...

Well this is strange, since the feature of handling Power Events (including screen timeouts) has been implemented successfully in 1.5.

Are you using the latest Blueinput version?

Regarding your question, you can go to Start->settings->power settings->advanced and disable Backlight timeout / Suspend mode.
