Unfortunatelly the intermediate builds are not open to public. There might be a forum category for that in the future ( or maybe a CSV repository).

1.1 comes with improved mouse support. Bluemouse now autodetects the basic mouse features and most important the movement geometry. This means the cursor speed will be the real one.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Looks like there's some good progress being made... I'm anxiously awaiting the next release. Can we get a hint about how long it will be?
Thanks!

Just installed version 1.1 and it works wonderfully! So much so that I went and purchased the full version immediately. It was a nice touch to make the new demo limit the number of clicks instead of screen space, it really helpd me to see how well it was working now. Only little "glitch" I've noticed so far is that in a game that uses a landscape orientation, the mouse stayed in portrait mode. Not much of a complaint, especially since that probably has more to do with the game than the driver.

I do have one featue request though, and I'm sure you're already working on it. Can you make it possible to use the scroll wheel?

Thank you!

Glad you like it. The wheel should work just fine, did you try to scroll the Items in Programs / Settings or Internet explorer?

I have tried both 1.0 and 1.1 with my smartphone (Samsung Blackjack) running Windows Mobile 5.0.

Both install fine, and I can see the cursor moving with my Macally BTMouseJR, but clicking on anything does not work. With 1.0, I can scroll in the Start Menu in both grid and list mode, but can not launch anything by clicking in either. With 1.1, I can only scroll in grid mode, but the display corrupts when I do, and I can't open anything by clicking it. Also, in grid mode, when I hold down the left click, it does the little circle made of other little circles like when you are selecting someting with the stylus on a PPC. On the home screen, I can't click anything at all or open the Start Menu by clicking with the mouse. Clicking *does* work in the Bubble Breaker game.

My device is a 320x240 landscape QVGA device, but I can not see all of the options when in the settings app. Which, by the way, is very difficult to get to open since I can not find a short cut to it and have to keep launching the trayapp till it pops up.

Any ideas?

Well I did some thinking and figures the lack of click may be a WM5 Smartphone limitation....

An easy way to fix it, I think, would be to add the ability to set the actions of the mouse buttons to be programmable to emulate a key press. Like the ability to map the left click button to act like my Blackjack's "OK" button.

I'd be happy to test for you, since most people here seem to have PPC's and not Smartphones. :)

On the download page, they have stated only Pocket PC compatibility...

I'm not sure if it could run on Smartphones, the smartphone applications do not know to react on clicks/taps. Can this be overcomed?

I think it could work if they could let the left click be assigned to emulate a keypress. :)

And clicking does work with some programs as it is now on my smartphone.

I don't think it would take very much work to make this completely compatible with smartphones, which would open up a whole different group of potential users. :)

Here's some screen captures showing Bluemouse on my Blackjack. The second shows clicking not working and the third shows the screen corruption I mentioned earlier.

I'm not very dummy. I read this document.
After input empty password, I see check box with "Input Device".
But click "Start" button in BlueMouse dialog do nothing...

Ok..., in version 1.1 in my configuration work "virtual" (hidden) cursor.
Focus well moves and click handles, but the arrow is not visible...

I'be been using Bluemouse pretty consistently for the past few days now, and I'm noticing that there are some screen errors around the cursor a lot...it leaves little shadows of itself around the screen fairly often. It's not terribly bothersome for the most part, although in pocketCAD it's particularly pronounced. Otherwise, it's been working out great.

Regarding the scroll wheel--it does work, but not for most things. I've been able to use it when I'm controlling another PC with VNC programs, and it sometimes works for reading mail, and it works fine in Resco's file explorer, but it doesn't work at all in any of my web browsers (Pocket IE, Opera, or Netfront) which is where it would be most helpful.

Still a terrific app though!

Should work. Only some of the extra-buttons are not supported but basic movement + buttons + wheel should be ok. You can try the trial version for free, the link is:

Ok emulate a keypress, let's say we are in the Settings windows, from the second image you've posted, what should happen when the user clicks above "6 Connections"?

If we get to a do-able conclusion, I'll make sure to add it to teksoft's list fo r the BlueMouse 1.2 features.

Yup we are aware of those little traces around the cursor. This is one of our main concerns at the moment, so hopefully version 1.2 will close these issues.

The problem with the scroll wheel is that some third party applications are not aware of this kind of input, so they do not react on it.

Version 1.0 did a Key UP for wheel up and a Key Down for Wheel down. The up/down keys is something all the applications react at.

Would be good to revert to the UP/Down mechanism as in 1.0?

You make a good point...

Is there just no framework to support mouse-like features in Smartphone?

Maybe it would be possible to integrate Bluemouse with a fake-pointer type program to work on Smartphones... :?:

Ok, I need a little support here. For some reason, I can't get the software to work with my mouse.

- v1.1 being used
- Phone is HTC Advantage/x7500
- Mouse is Microsoft Wireless Presentation Mouse 8000
- any other info to help troubleshoot?

If you guys don't mind I would also like to post what happened here to get help and maybe to help others that might have this same problem (sorry if too much detail ;-) ):

- Initially had 1.0 installed and paired a the 8000 with my HTC Advantage. Didn't work well due to the limitations and bugs in 1.0. I gave my mouse to a customer and would wait for 1.1 to be released.
- 1.1 released so I installed it. I downloaded the CAB's, installed the cert first then the program. The program announced that the older version would be removed, I okay'd this action and went on with the install.
- Deleted the old mouse from the device. Paired the new mouse. Upon pairing the device, I was asked for the second PIN again when the device "noticed" the mouse trying to communicate. I just hit cancel on this as previously instructed. I went to check my BT devices and the mouse wasn't listed...only my headset was listed.
- I performed a soft reset, paired the mouse again. This time it didn't ask for the second pin and stayed in the BT device list.
- My problem is that I don't see the cursor now. I don't think the mouse is actually communicating with my device even though it's paired. I'm also getting an error from the 1.1 software that the mouse is not paired even though I see it paired in the BT device list.

I'm about to try two things:
1. Unpair the mouse and rejoin it to my device.
2. Test another mouse to make sure at least one mouse works on my device.

EDIT: Just sent a support request to the developer and noted this thread so they can reference all of the detail to my problem. This way we have a central point where I can post issues/results for everyone helping. Thanks in advance for helping out in this matter.

1) Is the mouse light on?
2) Can you click?

Personally I don't think the bluetooth connection works there.

Can you try:
1) Unpair mouse and Uninstall BlueMouse
2) Reset
3) Install BlueMouse 1.1
4) Pair Mouse

I think this should put you on the right track with this problem.

Ok. I will try your suggestion a little later today when I get a moment.

No, I wasn't able to click, etc. I did try that to see if it was communicating at all. Yes the light on the mouse was on also.

Got a response from support. They recommended the same thing you recommended. Didn't work. Just curious if anyone else is running 1.1 with the 8000 mouse?

I'm running a debug now and am going to send over the dump files.

Clicker F21 and HTC Advantage

Postby vmiguel » Wed Jun 27, 2007 11:27 am

Hi all,

My Clicker bt mouse, that works fine on HTC Universal, doesn't seem to work on HTC Advantage.

Maybe because Advantage has built-in drivers for usb mouses?

Mouse that works...

Postby ltxda » Fri Jun 29, 2007 5:36 pm

A buddy of mine in Canada just purchased a mouse that works well with the software. I may go out and get it this weekend.

Anycom BTM-100 BlueTooth Mouse
Work Time: 20 hours
Standby Time: 2000 hours
Resolution: 800dpi
Profile: HID (boot support)
Power: wx AAA Ni-Mh batteries, rechargeable with USB adapter/charger (included)
Chipset: CSR BC02
Radio Class: Class2
SIG Certification: BlueTooth 1.1
Dimensions (H x W x T): 28.5 x 48 x 100.5 mm (1.12 x 1.88 x 3.397 inches)
Weight: 48 grams excluding batteries

He tells me this mouse is very small and works great. Also has on/off switch and he was able to partner it to his x7500 without any problems and that BlueMouse picked it up after a soft reset without any issues.

He also mentioned that the cursor gets a little laggy when he's on the phone while using his mouse. Is there a potential fix for this? Has anyone else reported this issue?

Anycom BTM-100 BlueTooth Mouse
Work Time: 20 hours
Standby Time: 2000 hours
Resolution: 800dpi
Profile: HID (boot support)
Power: wx AAA Ni-Mh batteries, rechargeable with USB adapter/charger (included)
Chipset: CSR BC02
Radio Class: Class2
SIG Certification: BlueTooth 1.1
Dimensions (H x W x T): 28.5 x 48 x 100.5 mm (1.12 x 1.88 x 3.397 inches)

He tells me this mouse is very small and works great. Also has on/off switch and he was able to partner it to his x7500 without any problems and that BlueMouse picked it up after a soft reset without any issues.

He also mentioned that the cursor gets a little laggy when he's on the phone while using his mouse. Is there a potential fix for this? Has anyone else reported this issue?

Hi, I was just looking for a mouse that I can use with my PDA. Do you have any idea where can I buy this model from, and what's the price for it?
Let me know if you get one for yourself.

Thanks,
Andy

I think it should work just fine.

How is the Touch in terms of speed - I didn't have the chance to see it yet?

heyy does anybody else notice little artifacts being left after you do certain things like click on an item in a drop down menu? generally it's not a big deal, but sometimes it happens to lie on some text and it can make it hard to read. any fixes, suggestions?

Bluemouse 1.2?

Postby fletchbiz » Thu Jul 26, 2007 7:47 am

Hi All,

Many weeks ago, you mentioned that you were working on Bluemouse 1.2, which would hopefully make it possible for me to use a BT mouse and BT keyboard with my Axim.

Are you getting close to releasing Bluemouse 1.2?

Thanks,

Charlie

HP IPAQ hx4700 problem

Postby geirb » Fri Aug 03, 2007 3:19 pm

I got an Ipaq hx4700 upgraded to WM5. When installing bluemouse, the installation prosess hangs when bluemouse is started. It seems like the actual installation prosess works, it's just bluemouse which will not run. Are there any incompatibility issues with the hx4700?

What can I do to get the driver to work? I have tried both version 1.0 and 1.1.

Greetings

Geir

Isn't the Ipaq hx4700 with Broadcom BT Stack?
BlueMouse 1.0/1.1 only work with Microsoft BT STack... On my device, after the installation, BlueMouse tries to enable BT by default, so maybe this doesn't work in your case because you have a different Stack?

No need to worry,

BlueMouse 1.2 has successfully entered the beta phase, all seems good until now, so we will see it on the website quite soon.

Keep an eye on the news section.
