Teksoft DynRIL - powerful telephony library

Postby admin » Mon Apr 13, 2009 11:18 pm

DynRIL v1.0 is a powerful RIL wrapper.

This Library can be used with various development tools and can be called from projects written in several well known languages like C++, C#, Visual Basic, and offers direct access to the RIL layer.

it exports an interface similar to DynTAPI, but brings additional functions like the Audio Route APIs. These new functions can route the audio to the earpiece speaker - very useful for VoIP applications.

The libraries sounded very promising.

Ran into some problems, since the samples aim at PPC 2003. I was able to build them on WM 6.1 device mostly, but there was no sound on either side during calls for example. This was the case with all samples, VB and C

Any idea?

Thanks,
Max

Read CellID (LAC+CID)

Postby Teksoft » Thu Jun 11, 2009 9:47 pm

DynRIL 1.0.103 is available.

One of the popular requirements for telephony applications is the possibility of reading the Cell ID (LAC and CID).
Image
Since no info is available on how to achieve that on Windows Mobile, we've decided to help the developer community and implement the feature in this latest release of DynRIL.
To start, have a look on the samples included with DynRIL. This new release comes with a C# sample (that displays the LAC and the CID). Also now you can receive notifications when a new SMS is received, and you can read the text and the originating number.

As a remark, the Cell ID notification is available for GSM devices, that are using a GSM network. So if your device connects to UMTS, make sure you disable it, and use only GSM, by going to Phone->Options->Band tab->Select your network type->GSM.

Help please?

Functionality is really great - thanks for sharing your libary!

Unfortunately the problem with no audio at all (either way) during an active call remains on an HTC Touch Diamond2 (aka Topaz) running WM 6.1 stock ROM, throughout all samples.

NetworkDialNumber, NetworkAnswerCall even NetworkTransmitDTMF work fine however, just no audio on calls.

Thanks,
Max

When I try the DynTAPI samples there is audio however, so I assume something is wrong with either DynRILDLL.dll or with the samples provided in the DynRIL download. I couldn't figure it out in the samples, so I assume it's something within the DLL provided.

Attached please find a C++ sample on how to route the audio from the Back speaker to the Earpiece.

Copy the DynRILDll.dll and the AudioPathSample.exe to the root of your mobile device and start the Exe.

You can use this code for free, for non-commercial applications only. To license the DynRIL library for commercial use, please contact Teksoft Support.

Hey,

I have been messing around with this sample code for a majority of my morning, and am only able to route the audio to one earpiece. It functions okay, just not at the level I was hoping for. Might there be something I am doing incorrectly? Everything is checking out fine diagnostically with my network virtualization, so I am hoping this is not a hardware issue of any kind.
