The airwizard tool could be a really nice addition to administrators who have to deploy apps over the air to non-technical users. Couple modifications/features should be added to make it really useful.

1) When the I build the exe, let me decide if it should be a "silent install". Most of my users get concerned when they see that the old application will be overwritten (which is intended) and many click cancel instead of OK. If when i sent them the exe over the air it didn't prompt them for anything, our upgrade process would be much simpler.

2) Have the option to have it install app on SD card if sd card is available. Many of us deploy on SD cards for various reasons (Size of data, security, speed, etc). Would be nice if the exe could detect if SD card is present and if it was, we could have it auto install on the SD card instead of on the device.

I understand that this software's target is for companies admin and such, but an end-user version could be very wellcome, with some little diferences:

When I do a hard reset, I restore a backup file, but only the PIM and personal files data, not the system or programs, because they could cause the problem that originated the hard reset to happen again...

When I upgrade my ROM, I never use a backup file, because the registry structure could be diferent, and major problems could happen...

In both this cases, I need to go trought all my system settings (Time Zone, Regional Settings, User Name, Buttons, Power Settings, Backlight, etc, etc...), install a lot of apps, go trought many of those apps settings, sync the device with my PC, and copy my files from the PC to my device.

A LOT OF WORK, this can take as much as 2 days, to get my Jasjar as I want it!

With AirWizard, you offer me part of the solution! All my apps can be reinstalled at once!

But would it be possible to make some sort of app, inside AirWizard, that would store all my system setting, and change them accordingly, after a hard reset?

Also, some other apps, like Spb PocketPlus and WebIS Pocket Informant, save a settings file, so we can put back all our favorite settings in one go, on those apps. If AirWizard could manage those files, also, and install those apps with our settings, it would be GREAT!

The same for the personal POI's of the navigation software, for instance.

That way, after a hard reset, I just run AirWizard, and my device would be just as I want it. After that, one simple sync with the PC, to get the PIM data, and voilá, all done in some minutes, instead of 2 days!!!

I ready to pay, just make it happen, PLEASE :D

Hi all
I'm running it under Windows Vista but when I try to add a .cab file here it is what I get:

Dear asci,
1 does this happen to all your cabinet files?
2 are you running the application in admin mode, if not please do so.
3 can you please share the drives configuration on your PC ( letters and what is it for - ie Harddisk partition, cd drive etc). AirWizard saves an information file from the cabinet file for parsing usefull information
4 Can you also make a test of installing the application in admin mode and restarting your PC then start using AirWizard.

Thank you for your time and looking forward for your answers.

Thanks,
Raul

I ran into this problem also and resolved the issue by renaming the CAB file in question. ;-)

Is there any way to make an installation CAB instead of an EXE?

If not currently, could this be worked in to future releases so the user has a choice of creating an installation EXE or CAB?

What about WM6? When will AirWizard support this Platform? At this time I cannot use it on WM6 because the installer skipped all CABs in the installer archive.

@DARKHalf
Until the new version comes out the only way to support WM 6 is to not use the platform version filter.
There are many things considered for update so it is worth waiting for.
